The Starlight group took a scenic hike along the route Sutomore – Veli Grad – Lorovik spring – Rt Sapavica beach, discovering the hidden treasures of Montenegro’s southern coast.

Sutomore: Start of the Journey

Sutomore is located near Bar, a popular resort on the Adriatic, known for its long sandy beach, promenade with cafes and historical sites such as the Tabija fortress and the ruins of the Haj Nehaj castle. The town serves as an excellent starting point for hiking routes to the mountains, such as the Vrsuta peak, and along the coast.

Veli Grad: A Peak with a Sea View

Velji Grad is a 497 m high coastal peak located between Sutomore and Bar. The climb begins with an asphalt road that turns into a dirt path leading to the top, where an antenna is installed. Although the peak itself is covered in forest, the trail offers spectacular views of the coast. The climb takes about an hour, covering an altitude of approximately 350 m.

Lorovik Spring: A Natural Oasis

A small trail along the road to the wild beach on Cape Sapavica leads to Lorovik Spring. The spring is located in a wooded area near the coast, next to the lookout point and the Crvene Stene beach. This place is known for its natural beauty and serves as a great place to rest and refill your water supplies during the hike.

Rt Sapavica Beach: The End of the Route

Rt Sapavica Beach is a secluded corner of the coast, known for its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. It is ideal for resting after the hike, offering clear waters and picturesque views.

This route is ideal for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, offering a variety of landscapes and experiences in a relatively short distance. With abundant blooms of bellflowers, daisies, St. John’s wort and even mullein, the route leaves an indelible impression. Recommended for hiking in spring and summer.
