What is it?
A collectible card game about wizard duels. You build a deck, cast spells and summon creatures to reduce your opponent’s life total from 20 to 0.
How to play in a nutshell:
- Your deck (usually 60 cards) runs on lands—they produce mana.
- Card types: creatures, instants and sorceries, enchantments, artifacts, planeswalkers.
- On your turn: play a land, cast creatures and/or spells, attack; your opponent defends.
- Win by: bringing the opponent to 0 life, making them unable to draw, or via special card conditions.
What’s the appeal?
Deep strategy and combos, thousands of cards and settings, endless room for creativity. Play on paper or in MTG Arena. Formats for every taste: fast Standard, social Commander, and Booster Drafts.
